UPS Resumes Limited Services in Chile
UPS has resumed flights to and from Santiago, Chile, after a recent earthquake that severely impacted the transportation infrastructure in the country. The airport and customs operations in Santiago are reestablishing service gradually. Service delays are expected throughout the week due to a slow return to normal of the customs operation, as well as lack of water and electricity at the airport.
UPS facilities in the affected areas are operational and pickup and delivery for Express and freight shipments has resumed. However, access to some areas may continue to be limited and we will provide service as conditions allow. Customers can also visit UPS offices in Santiago to drop off their export and domestic volume.
UPS will continue to monitor this situation and will post updates as necessary.
The UPS service guarantee does not apply when transportation networks are disrupted.
